Time for an Upgrade!

Jose and I have been wanting to buy a new TV for well over a year now... Our old TV (which used to be my parents' but they gave it to us when they upgraded a few years back) worked OK, but the picture would jump a lot and we found ourselves banging on the top of it on a daily basis just to get through an episode of "Friends"! Pretty annoying, not to mention waaayy embarrassing when we had people over! Anyways, last week we decided that we have enough in our savings to FINALLY just bite the bullet and get one! So here it is... Our new 46" Sony Bravia 1080p LCD Flat Panel TV... And since Best Buy was having a special on a TV/Sony PS3 package, we decided to get that too. Hooray for Blu Ray!! :)
Before:
(with everything else taken out... ready for Craigslist!)
AFTER:
Isn't she beautiful?? Gosh, I feel like such a grown up now... Like we're finally getting rid of the hand-me-downs from mom/dad/grandma and starting to buy our own furniture. It was definitely a long time coming, and definitely worth the wait :)

Happy Independence Day

I hope everyone has a fabulous 4th of July! This has always been one of my most favorite holidays. It's a day that always brings fun and happiness...Warm weather, BBQ's, parades, fireworks.. what more could you ask for?! I can't wait to sit with my hubby tomorrow night and watch the sky explode :) xoxoxoxo

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!! ♥

30 years ago today my parents were married. 4 houses, 3 kids, 1 horse and about 15 cats and dogs later they are still going strong. They have set an amazing example for my husband and I of what a marriage should be, which is simply: Sticking together no matter what life may toss your way. I love you guys! :)

Sooooonnnn!!!!!!

I finally ordered my BlackBerry the other day!! It should be here by Monday, and I can't wait! I have been wanting a BlackBerry for so long, and I'm so pumped to be able to check emails/FaceBook/Twitter/BLOG whenever and where ever I please :)
I'm already getting my thumbs warmed up for all those BBMs I will be sending :P

PS... I ordered this $300+ phone off Amazon.com and got it for FREE! Apparently they have deals with phone companies, and if you agree to a 2 year contract, you can get the phone for free... YEA!!

Is it Saturday yet?

Seriously, this week has been the longest ever in history. Not that I have a job or anything... I mean, my days all run together as it is. But for some reason, this week has seemed especially long. Perhaps it's because we are trying to have a baby, so every moment that I'm not pregnant yet just seems so long, and I hate waiting to have to find out every month! I'm trying to not make this process stressful, and keep telling myself it will happen when the time is right, but I can't help it, I am waaayyyy too impatient for this! Haha... Oh well, we have only just started trying, so I guess a few month of lots of sex won't hurt :P

Anyways, the other night Jose and I joined our friend Todd and his gf at the Giants/Angels game, (and I would like to add that we did not choose this game, Todd's a fan and he invited us - we are A's fans and wished both teams could lose!) and we snapped this photo of ourselves:
This is the first pic in a long while where I don't feel like my face is fat (well, not fat but bigger than I would like)... which gives me hope that my obsessive gym attendance might be finally paying off! Yay! :)

I hope everyone has a great Father's Day weekend, and has a chance to soak up the sun (now that it's finally here)!! xoxoxoxo

Carrie Who???!!

Ugh, can i just say that I wish Miss California would goooo awaaayyyy! I just watched a video of her on the Today show, and the whole time I found myself thinking, "Who cares????" Seriously. This is Miss California, people. The winner of a beauty pagent. Not the friggin President!! I have lived in California my whole life, and before this year I never even knew who Miss California was... and I was perfectly fine with that.

And honestly, I don't agree with her position on gay marriage, but I also don't really care. She has no pull or influence, and she is free to think and feel whatever she wants. So what does it matter? I hate the media for giving her so much attention, and I hope she will go away soon.... Don't we have better things to worry about??

OK, I'm done with my rant for now.. Hahaha... Happy Saturday everyone! :)

Takes Me Back

Yesterday as I was updating my iPod, I decided to download Annie Lenox's album "Medusa". I honestly do not know how I don't already own this album, since it is one of my favorites of all time. Seriously, every single song is great!! My mom had this album when I was growing up, I think she got it when it first came out (in 1995). I can remember my brothers and I singing along to "No More I Love Yous" while my mom drove us to school in the morning... And this is the CD I would throw on whenever I was doing chores around the house. I seriously have a clear-as-day vision of doing dishes, bopping around to "Take Me To The River"!! Haha... Oh, nostalgia! Anyways, I listened to this album while at the gym today, and it made me so happy to think of those memories :)

Happy Weekend, everyone!! xoxoxo

Your Hair is Everywhere

Today I'm updating my iTunes, downloading some new stuff and importing some old CD's I never got around to importing before. It's a boring, time consuming and tedious task, but I think it will be worth it when I can listen to "Ice Ice Baby" and "Screaming Infidelities" whenever and where ever I please :)

Spring Cleaning Must-Haves

I love to have a clean house, and since becoming a "house wife", I have managed to keep this up pretty well. However, I also love when it doesn't take up all of my time just to clean the bathroom (and having one full bathroom, 3 people and 3 cats that shed like crazy the bathroom can get pretty, well, hairy)... So I am always looking for ways to make cleaning a little bit easier, and have found a few products that I have decided I just cannot live without...

Lysol Dual Action Wipes
These are PERFECT for cleaning up the main bathroom. They have a scrubbing side as well as a soft side, making it so easy to wipe down the sink, counter, bathtub, even toilet!

Clorox Greenworks Natural All Purpose Spray
I use this on a daily basis, mostly to wipe down the kitchen. Just a couple spurts and the sink, counters and stove are good as new. It doesn't have all the harsh chemicals of your average all-purpose cleaner, but it works just as well.
And my newest favorite.... Shark Steam Mop
I bought this a couple weeks ago from Bed Bath and Beyond (great way to use those 20% coupons they are always sending out), and I could not be happier with my purchase. It is the best mop I have ever owned, and hopefully will be the last! And the best part is all you need is tap water and you're good to go! God, I feel like I'm just spouting out the info-mercial right now, but it's all true! It will run you about $100, but I personally think its worth it... It's like my philosophy on hair straighteners... You could either spend $15 each on a few different crappy ones till you figure out which works best, or you could just invest a little more and never have to worry about it!
Well, I'm off to clean and basically use all of the above :)
Happy Tuesday!! xoxoxo

Busy Bees and Babies

Man, this weekend was very long and BUSY! Full of barbeque's, friends, family and of course quality time with me and my husband :) And can I just mention that on Saturday morning as Jose was finishing up his shift (and his paramedic field training), they got a call for a woman in labor with twins. Well, they didn't quite make it to the hospital before the babies wanted to come out, and Jose ended up delivering both babies!! And to his credit, he said it wasn't gross at all... "It was actually really beautiful and amazing."

I'm hoping this is a good sign that we are due to have our own baby soon... That's right, as of this month we are "officially" trying to get preggers! Hopefully it won't take too long, but I'm not really counting on getting pregnant right away... Just trying to be patient and see what happens :) But please keep your fingers crossed!!

Anyways, not much else too exciting going on... I have SO much that I want to get done around the house this week, but I've had really bad insomnia lately that is just killing me... We're talking going to bed at midnight, then laying there wide awake till 5am, and then being so tired in the morning I sleep till about noon...doesn't leave too much time in between to get everything done. But I plan on going to bed at around 9 tonight, and maybe falling asleep by at least 2... hopefully it works!! :P

Jose and I have also started to do some volunteer work. Today I'm working a shift for the first time at the American Red Cross... I figure as long as I'm not working a regular job, might as well use my time to give back while I can :) I'm working at the blood center, so hopefully it goes smoothly and I don't have anyone passing out on my watch!

More blogs to come hopefully later today... Right now I have lots to do, and well, I'm tired :/

Their Past Lives???

Last night Jose and I were watching a documentary on Freddie Mercury on the Bio channel, when they showed the following picture. It's of Freddie, just a short while before he passed away, sitting on the bed with his cats. And the look JUST LIKE OUR CATS!! Well, two of them at least:
Trrriiiippppyyyyyy. We seriously could not believe it, and had to pause the TV for a good five minutes. I mean, I know there are a lot of cats that look alike, but this is just weird.

MTV Finally Entertains Us

Wow, lots to blog about, so lets get started...

I kinda feel like I've been in a cave for the past 2 weeks. For a week I was staying at my Aunt and Uncle's house with my Nana, while they vacationed in Hawaii. Then (last Sat), I got home and quickly had to get ready and go to Holly's house for a fab Graduation/House Warming party. THEN on Sun my mom, younger brother and I made a quick trip to LA. My older brother lives there, and my younger brother is going to live with him for a while (he is 22, and after living at home his whole life, was in desperate need for a change of scenery). Soooo I've spent the last few days just trying to recover and get my life (and my house) back to normal.

OK, now that we are all caught up, on to the issues at hand: I will start with some TV talk...

- The Hills season finale last night was to be expected... Speidi got married, Lauren showed up, everyone was there, blah blah blah... I have to say The Hills were getting pretty boring. Enter Kristin Cavallari. I am SO excited for her to come back to us. I loved her on Laguna Beach, and she makes for way better TV than LC. Sure, Lauren seems like a cool person, but lets be honest, she was just too low-key for this reality TV business. Kristin on the other hand, is (for lack of a better term) basically a man-eating bitch. And I love it. I was going to post the trailer, but for some reason Blogger isn't letting me paste anything right now, so if you wanna see the trailer, just go to MTV.com and click on "The Hills".

-The 2009 MTV Movie Awards were on last night (right after The Hills), and I was thoroughly impressed. For the past few years the Movie Awards have pretty much sucked, but last night was actually pretty awesome. Andy Samburg hosted, who is one funny SOB, and you could tell his touch was all over the place. And of course the best part was the trailer for New Moon, which looks amazing!! I didn't, however, agree with Twilight winning pretty much everything. I mean, I love the movie and all... But truth be told, Slum Dog Millionaire and Dark Knight are clearly superior films. Oh well, its all in good fun, right? And I think LeeAnn Rimes singing "Jizz In My Pants", and Eminem getting balls to the face more than made up for it :P

More blogs to come later tonight (or perhaps tomorrow).. so stay tuned :)

American Idol Season 8 Wrap-Up

Among the many TV shows that I have season-passed on my Tivo, American Idol is at the top of my list (giving it #1 priority). I have watched religiously every season, ever since the days of Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini (aka Sideshow Bob) And *side note* I would like to point out that I am some-what close to the show, in the sense that I have worked on licensing music for the AI and 19 Recordings in some form or another, for the past 4 seasons, and would have again this season had I not been laid off... I even went to a taping a couple seasons back, in which my mom can be seen on TV dancing with Taylor Hicks (but that's another post altogether).

Anyways, I have to say that this season was by far and away my favorite yet. Not just because of the ways they tried to "re-invent" the show (new judge, new stage, amazing mentors, etc.) but because of the sheer raw talent that this season showcased. Yes, there were some contestants I new wouldn't win right of the bat (scott, anoop, megan, lil), but I don't think there has ever been a season when they would get to the top 5 and I would say "Wow, I really don't know who is going to win!", and nor did I care. Matt, Allison, Danny, Adam and Kris are ALL amazing and I would have been so happy for any of them to take home the title. It would take far too long to go over the highlights of the entire season, so I will just mention last night, the season finale:

- The musical guests and collaborations were great. My fave was Allison and Cyndi Lauper singing "Time After Time". And I felt like the guests were powerful, yet not over-bearing, and allowed the contestants to really shine.

- The Kara/Bikini Girl showdown - Anyone who has watched the whole season knows that "Bikini Girl" is basically a hot mess, and Paris Hilton wanna be. On top of that, she's not that great of a singer (which is why she didn't make it on the show)... So when she started to sing I was like "Ooooh great. Now we have to watch this train wreck"... But then Kara comes out to battle with her and blew her outta the water! I don't care how annoying Kara may have been throughout the season, for me she has totally redeemed herself.

- Tatyana - You're nuts. Nuff said.

- Adam Lambert singing with KISS was really a highlight for me. As creepy as Gene Simmons may be, they're still KISS, and I thought that the fact that Adam can be up there with them, in all their makeup, pyro-technics, star power and stage presents, and still stand out and shine through, just shows exactly how big of a star he is going to be. I was also totally stoked when Kris and Adam performed with Queen (one of the greatest bands EVER). The next Freddy Mercury, anyone??

- And finally, Kris Allen taking home title of American Idol was amazing. I think most people expected Adam to win, and I have to admit that he was my fave though out the season... But Kris is sooo talented and cute, and has the potential to be huge as well. Plus, he was the under-dog, and you know its always great when someone can pull off an upset. And I have to mention how adorably cute his wife, Katy, is. She was there in the audience week after week supporting her man, and I just love that about her. And at the very end when she pushed her way through to the platform to Kris and give him a hug, UGH! I seriously got choked up!

All and all I can't wait to see what happens next for everyone from this season, and I will be listening for them on the radio!

And don't forget...So You Think You Can Dance starts tonight, another amazing show! :)

My New Favorite Sites

Here are two awesome websites I've discovered in the past couple of days:

* Stickk.com I actually heard about this site on the news the other night. It's a website where you can make a contract to yourself to complete goals that you have set... For example, I am going to be making a contract (although haven't commited yet...I'm scared!) to lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks. It works like this: I set this goal for myself, and put a wager down of $5 per week. Every week that I do not report losing at least 1 pound, they will take $5 of my money and give it to an organization of your choice. This can be a charity, ORRRRR an "Anti-Charity". For extra motivation, I am going to chose the NRA (which I do NOT want to give my money to), just to absolutely make myself lose the weight! You can set any goal that you want, wager what you want, and chose where your money will go, should you not make your goal. It's a pretty interesting concept, and a great way to get motivated and finally make yourself do the things you've been wanting to.

* The Cutest Blog on the Block You may have noticed the little face lift my blog has gotten in the past few days. This is thanks to a darling website I found called The Cutest Blog on the Block. They have TONS of free blog backgrounds, and they are so easy to use! Plus, unlike some blog layouts I have found, these are just backgrounds, and don't interfere with any of the settings you may already have :) Check out their website, and be sure to hop on over to the creators' blog here.

Latest Obsession: TKB

For the past month and a half, Jose and I have both become hard core gym-goers. He goes pretty much everyday before work (which sometimes means getting up at 4am!), and I've been going about everyday, as much as I can. So far, it's been great! We both feel SO much better, I am getting stronger and gaining muscle AND I have lost about 5 pounds!

Part of my weight loss/getting in shape success is because of a hot new workout that I have become completely obsessed with; Turbo Kick Boxing (TKB). The 24 Hour Fitness we go to offers classes everyday, so I have been going 2-3 times a week! It's an hour long, intense cardio workout that works your entire body. I LOVE IT! It's so much fun, and the hour flies by. If anyone has an opporitunity to attend one of these classes, or even get a TKB video, do it! No equipment is needed. You'll be jabbing and round-housing your way to fewer pounds in no time :)

Thanks A Lot, Tabloids!

Lets face it, I am all for celebrity gossip... I read thesuperficial.com, TMZ, Perez Hilton, watch E!, and for a very long time had a religious relationship with US Weekly. However, I am a bit disgruntled at the moment. Why? Because as a result of paying attention to Hollywood "news", the season finale of "Grey's Anatomy" was completely ruined for me.

I'll start by saying this: I cry at least once during every episode of this show. And I love it. The season finale should have been no different. Actually I should have been shocked, saddened, happy, angry, and ultimately brought to tears. However because of allllll of the tabloid news about the show, I left the episode thinking "Eh, I'm not surprised". At first I just thought the season finale wasn't that good... But then I started to think about, and I discovered that it was actually pretty amazing. I mean, the whole "007" thing was brilliant! I'm being careful not to reveal too much for anyone who hasn't watched yet, but let me just say I really, really hope they WOW us all and deliver something totally unexpected for next season.

On the up side to my season finale "season" (and yes, I am aware of how much TV I watch, and I'm perfectly OK with it), LOST was all I could hope for and more. Aside from the fact that they didn't answer ANY questions, only proposed more of them, it was pretty damn terrific. All I can say is JOHN LOCKE, WTF?

More finales this week, I can't wait!

I can't believe he's already one!!!

Soooo stoked it's warm out again.. Hopefully it stays that way for a while! :)

"FUN"employment??... maybe not so much

Well it's been almost 3 months since I was laid off and I have to say, I'm starting to get a lil bit of the Cabin Fever! As much as I love(d) having a break from the work force, there is only so much housework/errands/working out a person can do before it starts to get old... At this point my house is pretty spotless and it only takes me a couple of hours (at most) to get the chores done in the morning. Don't get me wrong I LOVE having a clean house... But when I am excited to dust just because it's something to do, you know we have a problem :P

The job hunting is still underway. I had a couple of prospects, but they haven't panned out, so I'm still applying away! I get very frustrated and discouraged sometimes, and I want to just give up because it feels like I will never work again... But luckily for me Jose is very encouraging and supportive (emotionally and financially!), so on I go to look and apply for jobs. I mean, odds are I HAVE to get some response sooner or later, right???!

On the "Good News" front, Jose has officially upgraded to Paramedic status at AMR! He's been going through orientation and next week will start his field training. This is a MAJOR step for him, and I'm so excited that he will be doing exactly what he wants to do in life :) And hopefully my next major step is just around the corner :)
Until then, I think there is some laundry that needs doing.... It's gonna be a good day :P

March 16, 2009

It's OK! ... my husband is a paramedic

We just found out this morning that Jose passed the Paramedic National Registry exam!
Soooooo excited/happy/proud :) He's worked so hard over the past year and a half to become a paramedic, and it's finally becoming a reality!

Congrats Jose, I am so proud of you, and so excited to tell everyone that my husband is a paramedic! ♥ ♥ ♥

Didn't know I was a comedian!

This weekend I decided to go down to my parent's house (about an hour away) and spend a day & night there. It was a pretty good time... Sunday night my dad and I had a HUGE bowl of ice cream and watched TV together, just like the good old days :) Yesterday it was just my mom and I, and we hung out around the house, watched my wedding video, and reminisced about when my brothers and I were younger. It's interesting how things come up that you had never talked about before, but that you always had a pre-conceived notion about.

For example: When we were younger (I'd say all the way up until we graduated HS), whenever my mom would get in a fight with one of us (and I think it was mostly me who did this), we would write her a letter about why she mad us mad. These letters were most of the time kind of mean, and looking back now, I have felt really bad about some of the things I wrote to my mother over the years... Turns out, she thought they were hilarious. Here's how yesterday's convo went:

Mom: I found a letter the other day that you had written when you were mad at me.. me and your dad read it, and it was so funny!
Me: Oh GOD! Was it mean? I always felt bad about that!
Mom: No, it was great!...Whenever I made you mad, I would turn to your dad and say "I'm gonna get a note!"... And then you guys would come up and throw it in my lap and run away, and then me and your dad would read them and laaauuugghhhh!
Me (now getting a little peeved that she laughed at us): MOM! That's not very nice!!
Mom: Hahaha, I always pretended like I was mad about it, but usually it was just funny

Thanks a lot, Mom!
:P

My Fave Time of Day

Being the night owl that I am, I'm always the last one to crawl into bed at night. And I JUST LOVE the feeling when I do, esp when I see this...All my babies... Safe, warm, and so peaceful :)

PS... The other night Timmy and Jose fell asleep together on the couch, and I just couldn't resist snapping a photo. God, what are these little guys gonna do when we have "real" babies??? I can just see the jealous rage now!
PPS... I am aware that Jose is in dire need of a haircut. He was growing it out, at my request, just to see what it would be like. Well, we agree it's time for a chop. Any ideas on a new hairstyle for him????... Also, 2 more new entries below this one, so keep reading! :)

The Toy That Would Not Die

Above is a picture of my cats' favorite toy. It's a cloth fish, and as you can see, it's pretty beat up and literally hanging on by a thread. I don't even remember buying it for them, we must have gotten it when they were babies (almost 5 years, and 3 apartments ago!), and somehow its still around.

Now, it is not my decision to keep holding on to this rag. I have tried to get rid of it before... But every time I throw it in the trash, someone would claw their way through the garbage and bring it back. No joke. The weird thing is, I rarely ever see any of my three cats playing with this fish, but I know they do because it turns up EVERYWHERE. The other morning, I woke up and found it in my bed, under the sheets.... One time I left my house and while I was out I found it IN MY PURSE. Yes, one of my clever kitties had somehow placed their beloved fish in my bag. Nuts.
So I guess this is their version of a security blanket? Or perhaps they are just using it to taunt me? I suppose I will hold on to it, and even fix it when it does finally break apart, just in case :P

My Life As A Housewife

Well it's been 2 weeks since I was laid off (wow, seems like much longer than that!) and I think I am finally settling in to not working (for now). It's definitely true what they say, "The grass is always greener on the other side"... Three weeks ago, I was complaining daily about my job, and wishing to the high heavens that I didn't have to work, and could just do stuff around my house all day... Then I got laid off and I instantly wished I could take it back.

I spent the first week of unemployment searching for open positions and sending in my resume like a mad woman. I was super restless and honestly could not believe I didn't have a job. As someone who has been working since I was 14, I was just beside myself. I am also someone who, in recent years, has developed issues with anxiety/depression, and I just know that it would be so easy for me to fall into sleeping all day and feeling sorry for myself. So, early last week as I was thinking about all of my free time, I decided that I cannot let that happen. I want to take advantage of this time off, however long or short it may be, and make the best of this situation. I made a deal with myself, and with God (yes, I am a pray-er), that if I can get through this and be happy, and be productive, then I would eventually be rewarded with a great job at a company I love, making the money I deserve. Sounds silly, but whatever helps me get through, right? Right.

So far it has worked. This week has been going by pretty slow, but I have to say, its amazing how busy you can be, even without being in an office 40 hours a week. I've been going to the gym *almost* everyday, running errands, doing housework, reading, and making myself NOT watch TV until the evening (with the exception of when I'm eating breakfast in the morning). Plus, Jose now has Thurs, Fri and Saturdays off (although he is working overtime today), so we have been able to spend a lot of time together, which I am absolutely loving!!!! So what if we don't have $$? Money can't buy happiness, and I think it's time I finally learned that.

Of course, I am still looking for a job, and have made sure to search everyday and apply to every job I find (that I want). Next week I'll start on some follow ups, to see if I can budge someone a little and get an interview! Until then, every cloud has its silver lining, and I think I have definitely found mine :) ♥ Cheers!

Vday Gifts 2009

Jose and I have a tradition were every Valentine's Day, instead of going out and buying each other some extravagant gift just because society tells us to, we take the opportunity to make each other a gift from the heart. We started this because the first Valentine's Day we spent together, I had a great idea of something I wanted to make for him (a scrapbook made up of the few baby pictures he has), so I said "lets make our gifts instead of buying them", and we've been doing it ever since. I for one LOVE this tradition, and highly recommend it :)

This year was no different. For my gift to Jose, I typed up our wedding vows (we wrote our own) and put them side by side in a frame.
For Jose's gift to me, he got a picture frame that has several openings, and filled it with pictures of us. There is a pic of us from each year: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008.
Can't wait till next year! Only 12 more months to think of something else to make :)

Much-Needed Weekend Getaway

Tomorrow morning Jose and I are heading down to Pismo Beach to camp with our good friends, Ronnie and Jenn (and baby Jason, of course!)... I can't wait!!! While it's probably not going to be quite as beautiful as the picture above (it's supposed to rain the whole time!), it's sure to be a relaxing weekend... Hanging out in Ronnie and Jenn's ginormous trailer, drinking, watching movies, riding some ATVs when the rain subsides... PLUS I get to spend the whole weekend with Jose, something I haven't been able to say in a very long time!!

And don't worry, I haven't forgotten about VDay... I've made Jose a very special gift that I'm really excited about, and will be giving it to him when we get back on Sunday night (pictures to come after he opens it!)... I hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the week/weekend/Valentines Day! ♥ ♥ ♥

Me Duele de la Cabeza!

It's no secret that I have been getting migraine headaches my whole life. The first one I can remember getting is when I was in kindergarten... It was during play time and I went all over the class room trying to find a place to lay down without being disturbed and finally passed out in the "Reading Corner"... Anyways, I usually only get them about once every couple of months. Well, this weekend I got one on Saturday, and then ANOTHER one on Sunday night! Both were really horrible and I felt like I was dying :( So I went to the doctor yesterday and got a whole batch of medications to help me with them... Here's hoping it works!

I think I found my calling

I just took part in a focus group for the first time, and I loved it! I'm sure they are all different, but in this one they had us making collages, drawing pictures, using our imaginations, etc. At first I was like "LAME" but then it was really fun! And at the end I got $100! I'm stoked, I can't wait to do one again :)

And now I'm off to unwind and watch some TV while my sweetie gets ready for work. Sucks that he still has about 2 weeks left of his night shift, but he's off this weekend! Yay! :)

Not sure how I feel about this...

So this new video is circulating around the web. It's been emailed to me, and I have noticed it being posted on Facebook by a few people... And I really cannot decide how to feel about it... On the one hand, it is pretty hilarious and obviously the kid is fine, but on the other hand he is so cute and I feel bad for him!

Basically, it's this kid who went to the dentist to get an extra tooth pulled, and his dad videotaped it because the kid was so nervous about the whole procedure, and his dad promised he would videotape before and after... Well this is the after. Funny or Sad? You be the judge:

i would do n-e thing for love

Tonight at Jose's request I made my very first meatloaf (get my title? Meatloaf?? haha) and did so using my Nintendo DS "Personal Trainer: Cooking" game. It took FOREVER, but it turned out great! Me cooking in our much-too-small kitchen (apron: William Sonoma)
The final product... yes, its wrapped in bacon!
Jose loved it :)
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Congrats to R&B

Just a little shout-out post to my brother, Ryan and his fiance, Bridget! They just got engaged on Christmas day, and are getting married this August in Boston. I'm sooo excited!! Not only is it going to be an awesome wedding, but it gives us an excuse to do some traveling to the east coast. And yes, I will be in the wedding, along with my younger brother (the Best Man!) and Bridget's two sisters. I can't wait!!

Congratulations you two!! :) xoxo,
